The purpose of HLI is to help people to live a better life by providing knowledge, motivation,and economic access to practical disease prevention.The only true way to be healthy is to live healthy, taking a complete life approach to your health. We're talking about lifestyle change here. If you smoke, overeat, don't exercise, and overwork, then chances are you aren't healthy or won't be for long. No pill is going to fix you. Only making tough life decisions to positively impact your health will work. You'll have to quit smoking, eat less or just better, get regular exercise, and balance your life with your career. We have recently made a family decision to cut out some of the sources of toxins (unnecessary and dangerous chemicals) in the household products that we use. For example most dishwasher detergents contain phosphates which scientists tell us are known to cause cancer. There are however several brands of dishwasher detergent that do not contain phosphates and cost just the same. So if we had a choice for a product with unnecessary poisonous additives and one with out them, we thought let's do without them! This caused us to search through our house for other products we switch to a safer brand. Like, shampoo, soaps, cleaners, medicines, and more. No we're not some crazy naturalists, just regular folks who want to "purify" their lives and get away from chemicals that we know aren't good for us. We found several sources of these more natural products. There are whole foods stores that cater to people wanting organic and natural products. Many major supermarket chains, like Albertsons, now carry natural/organic brands. We decided to buy from a company called Melaluca which has hundreds of these types of products (please contact us and ask for Stephanie for more info and free samples). But whatever You decide on, we're happy you have decided to make a positive change in your life. It means you have woken up to the fact that just because they can sell it, doesn't mean it's good for you, and you have realized there is a better, healthier, way to live.
